Environmental responsibility starts in planning

We are aware of our responsibility for the environment and climate. Therefore, we continuously work on the development of environmentally and climate-friendly processes and products. Our goal is to consider ecological responsibility not only in individual products but across the entire lifecycle – from material selection and energy efficiency to logistics, packaging, and light reduction.

    BUY SMART

    BUY SMART: Making quality and sustainability verifiable

    BUY SMART by MK Illumination is an evaluation model for decorative lighting products and motifs. It helps to transparently assess and evaluate essential quality aspects before making a purchase decision. The model is based on four criteria: safety, legality, efficiency, and sustainability.

    Our quality control accompanies the entire production process – from development to final inspection of the finished product. It is complemented by our own quality assurance laboratory and external certified testing stations.

    Material selection and durability

    Less resource consumption through material selection and durability

    Many of our products are made from renewable raw materials, recycled materials, and innovative materials such as low carbon aluminum. This reduces environmental impacts compared to conventional materials.

    At the same time, we focus on durability. A significant part of the environmental impact arises during manufacturing – that’s why we develop products that can be used and reused for many years. This reduces emissions, conserves resources, and avoids unnecessary waste.

    Energy-efficient systems

    Energy-efficient systems as standard

    Low energy consumption is an essential component of responsible lighting solutions for us. Therefore, since 2008, MK Illumination has consistently focused on energy-saving LED technology. Moreover, we continuously develop systems further – for instance, with the Premium Eco series that reduces energy consumption further without compromising light quality or effect.

    This results in solutions that support both ecological and operational requirements in the long term.
