Freiberg is blooming – Flowerballs as floating summer greetings
Since May, glowing Flowerballs have been floating over the alleys of Freiberg's old town – like oversized blossoms that spread color and joy. They appear light and cheerful, add summer accents, and invite visitors to pause and enjoy.
A project that proves: Even small interventions can have a great impact – and inspire Christmas lighting in the city.

Chemnitz in a new light – Organic Balls for atmosphere and safety
Since March, several illuminated spheres in muted colors have been creating a warm lighting atmosphere in the Inner Klosterstraße/Börnichsgasse area in Chemnitz – a true eye-catcher during the day and at night.
The season-independent installation consciously enhances the quality of stay and the feeling of safety in the inner city area – gentle, stylish, and sustainable. A successful example of how city lighting at Christmas and beyond can achieve more than mere decoration.
The project was implemented as part of a competition process and funded from the 2024 inner city fund. The installation was carried out by NEL GmbH from Leipzig.
